Nicole Mehta currently serves as the Assistant Director for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion for Resident Life at the University of Maryland, College Park. In this role, she oversees DEI strategic planning, staff development and training, and student education and engagement. Nicole has over ten years of professional experience in DEI at private and public universities. She is also a doctoral candidate in UMD’s Student Affairs Program in the College of Education. Her dissertation research focuses on South Asian American women and leadership, specifically how race and gender influence definitions and enactment of leadership. Nicole holds a MA in Student Affairs from the University of Maryland, College Park and a BA in Sociology and Journalism from San Diego State University.
